Only the Congress government laid the foundation stones: Uttarakhand’s Pushkar Singh Dhami
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said on Tuesday that the Congress government had only laid the first stones of the projects and left them there while the BJP government completed those it had started.
Criticizing Congress leaders for often trying to take credit for the development work done during the last five years of BJP rule in the state, Mr Dhami said it was the difference between both parties.
“You (Congress) have only laid the first stones of the projects in your time and left them there while we start and finish them,” Dhami said at a virtual gathering here.
Work is underway on a war footing on all the projects the BJP has taken over after taking over, be it the reconstruction of Kedarnath, the Chardham all weather road or the Rishikesh railway line -Long-awaited Karnaprayag, he said.
The Center under Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sanctioned projects worth Rs 1.5 lakh crore for Uttarakhand over the past five years, many of which have already started, Dhami said.
“Two phases of reconstruction works in Kedarnath have already been completed while work has already started on projects to be resumed in the third. Reconstruction works in Badrinath according to a master plan are also underway,” he said. he declares.
Dehradun Airport has already been upgraded from its previous capacity of accommodating 250 people at a time to 1,600 people, and it is now on its way to becoming a world-class airport.
He referred to the unprecedented work being done in the road sector and credited the “dual engine” government for all the infrastructure projects initiated over the past five years.
Mr Dhami also attacked Congress for its ‘contempt’ for the armed forces saying its leaders called the late General Bipin Rawat a ‘street hooligan’ and how the party now hangs its posters at its campaign rallies for electoral gains.
BJP State Chairman Madan Kaushik said people are aware of the priority given to development projects in Uttarakhand by the prime minister and how a young chief minister like Mr Dhami uses all his energy and time to implement them.
He expressed his confidence that seeing the work of the dual-powered government people will again bless the party.
“With your blessing, we will definitely achieve our goal of recording a bigger win this time than in 2017,” Kaushik said.
