Niranjan Patnaik, Odisha Pradesh congressional committee, speaks out on resignation rumors
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Pradesh Congressional Committee (OPCC) chairman Niranjan Patnaik raised rumors about his resignation and said his resignation decision would not be shared with people outside his party. âThe post of chairman of the CCP is not permanent,â he said.
OPCC President Patnaik also said he wrote a letter to the high command ahead of the publication of Pipili’s election results and denied at the press conference, to shed light on the content of the letter.
“I will remain chairman until the final decision of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) and continue to lead the party,” he said.
He added that there were many qualified people on the team to lead the party as chairman and said he would only suggest the names after being questioned by the AICC. âThere is no reason for the members to be demoralized. I will not let Congress weaken until I lead the party, âhe added.
Meanwhile, top congressional official Sarat Rout said only Niranjan Patnaik could clarify his resignation and no one else. “While each member is allowed to resign at their own will, Patnaik’s resignation will have a negative impact if he does not speak clearly about his final decision soon.”
Likewise, Congress leader Suresh Routray also said that Niranjan Patnaik has yet to give clear confirmation regarding his resignation. “In case he wrote his letter of resignation, it is still not clear whether it will be accepted or not, as AICC General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Rahul Gandhi are involved in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case.” , he added.
