Mineral County 4-Her Joins WV Delegates at National Convention

ATLANTA, Georgia – Nine 4-H delegates recently represented West Virginia at the 4-H National Congress held in Atlanta, Georgia.

During the 4-H Congress, youth engage in community service, develop personal development skills, experience hands-on teamwork activities, and celebrate the outstanding achievements of 4-H youth across the country.

The 2021 National Convention provides a unique opportunity for 4-Hers to participate in strong educational programming and represent something bigger than themselves while networking and attending an actual conference.

4-Hers won the right to attend the annual 4-H National Convention in Atlanta. Representatives applied to participate and were selected based on a strong 4-H record and active participation in the program over 8-10 years.

“The application process taught me how to write a resume and showed me that I had many things to be proud of and many contributions to as a member of 4-H over the past 10 years,” said Katie. Miltenberger, who was chosen to be the delegated councilor. for the State of the Mountain group during the 2021 event.

The five-day event concluded with an international themed dinner, community service throughout Atlanta, and a gala celebrating 100 years of Congress.
