Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): Police on Tuesday arrested Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee Secretary Dinesh Jain in connection with illegal mining and theft of royalties, sources said.

Jain had been on the run since a case was registered against him at Mahidpur Road Police Station, a police officer said. Following a tip-off, a police team raided his home in the locality of Mahidpur Road and arrested him.

According to reports, a joint team from the Department of Revenue and the Department of Mines raided the village of Bapaiya in May 2014. It was discovered that Dinesh Jain was involved in illegal sand mining.
