Congress committee launches Nava Sankalp padayatra – The New Indian Express

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Coinciding with the 75th anniversary of Independence Day, the Thiruvananthapuram District Congress Committee held its Nava Sankalp padayatra on Tuesday from Neyyattinkara. The padayatra being held across the state would see the congressional leaders of the respective districts marching 75 km as per the directive of the central congressional leadership.

During the padayatra, former State Congress President, M. M. Hassan handed over a national flag to Thiruvananthapuram DCC leader, Palode Ravi, at the home of former freedom fighter G Ramachandran, Madhavi Mandiram in Neyyattinkara. Hassan, in his inaugural address, said the country faces challenges in secularism, democracy and socialism.
