Central theme of anti-congress politics at the party congress: Satheesan

Anti-congress politics are the central theme of daily discussions at the 23rd Congress of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) in Kannur, opposition leader VD Satheesan has said.

The reflection of the unholy bond that the CPI(M) state unit, headed by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, has formed with the Sangh Parivar through intermediaries is clear at the party congress, it said. he told the media here on Saturday.

He said the same mediators, who worked to end the central agencies investigation into the Left Democratic Front government and acted as a link between Mr Vijayan and Modi, were behind attempts to create an anti-Congress policy at the CPI(M) party congress.

“The state CPI(M) promised the Sangh Parivar leadership to thwart the attempts of the CPI(M) central leadership to form an alliance with the country’s Congress against the Bharatiya Janata Party. They are ready to do anything to defeat Congress. With the Kannur party congress, the CPI(M) moved to the extreme right,” Satheesan said.

He said the party’s state committee controlled the national leadership of the CPI(M). The Kannur Party Congress would be recorded in history as a party meeting in which the national leadership had no say.
