In another shock to the Jammu and Kashmir Congress, 20 other leaders of the District Congress Committee-Jammu North resigned in support of former veteran Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad.

This came after more than 36 Congress leaders, including leaders of the National Union of Students of India, submitted their resignations on Thursday in solidarity with veteran leader Ghulam Nabi Azad. On August 30, 64 other top Congress leaders resigned from the party, in what must be called a massive resignation after Azad’s exit.

On August 26, Azad resigned from all party posts citing the “immaturity” of Rahul Gandhi whom he blamed for “demolishing the consultative mechanism” of the party.

In a hard-hitting 5-page memo to the party’s acting president, Sonia Gandhi, Azad claimed that a coterie ran the party. At the same time, she was only a nominal head and all major decisions were made by “Shri Rahul Gandhi or rather worse his security guards and PA”.

Speaking to reporters in the nation’s capital earlier, Azad said, “I was forced to leave my house on my own. Taking a dig at Congress over his resignation, he said: “Modi is an excuse, they’ve had a problem with me since the G23 letter was written. They never wanted anyone to write to them. , asks them.” “Several (Congress) meetings were held, but not a single suggestion was taken,” Azad added.
